| of the bag on it. You remind me of 'Iraqi Bob' denying the American Army had rolled into Baghdad while fighting is going on several blocks behind him in sight of the cameras From what I've heard and seen, Mr Smith may not have been managing his manifold busines very well. Your unprofessional and out-of-the-know OPINION. Let's assume it to be true though....If he hit snags like any other business so be it. The difference between him and your pal is that he doesn't continue manufacturing subpar or flawed stuff, doesn't hand over production to the lowest bidder for the sake of maintaining inventory over quality, he made sure he found a manufacturer who met his requirements and that even if the customers had to wait unexpectedly, at least they got exactly what they expected from him (you may want to research his Z32 background vs your pal's). Of course this process likely wont happen anymore in the future because all that added expense cant be recouped before AMS sends one of the units to CNRacing to be xeroxed I think he relied on pre-orders as a means of funding new prodcution runs. These production runs were usually of a very small scale and at times sporadic. This would obviously lead to a few snags such as limited availability (which was extremely common) and higher prodcution costs (which is completely understandable for small prodcution run operations). These factors I believe lead to very high purchasing prices. I should know, I'm presently using a set of MSP manifolds purchased over 2 years ago at almost twice the current cost of the AMS manifolds. This is the problem, when YOU think, because YOU are not knowledgeable or "in-the-know". Much like you THOUGHT 300 Degree/TTnet & IPP didnt contribute much to ZCon when it turns out they contributed heavily.... You----> [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2328804/Hi-would-you-please.html ] Reality----> [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2328988/Just-to-set-the-record-straight.html ] Much like when you THINK AMS manifolds were their own design, when the reality is that they were simply zeroxed and restamped by CNRacing. The CNRacing rep plain told people at SEMA a while back. [ http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=2231670 ] Of course that's just AliaZ's word and he is a known TTnet asshole, troll, dickhead, etc etc right? So if I am taking his side over yours it is because I am biased in some way right? Absolutely right, reason being when YOU make suppositions or assertions, the reality turns out to be very different. When HE makes assertions on something, the reality turns out to be one and the same. Of course I am going to believe his statement, as is anyone with any semblance of an objective eye. I believe AMS was able to offer a substantially less expensive alternative due to negating some of the obstacles that MSP encountered. Namely, having a much much larger production run and having them made in Asia.
Orrrr namely by not having to make expenditures on R&D, additional expenditures to use known quality material, and THEN the lesser production costs from a larger production run being the icing on the dupe-cake....NOT the heart of the savings themselves. For anyone reading this who may think it is just coincidence that they are identical in appearance and ended up with the same minor design flaws....here's what has historically been produced by those who did not xerox other designs, courtesy of another biased TTnet asshole/dickhead; [ http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2231651/I-just-read-the-whole-post--3CZ---ZCherub-isnt-stirring.html ] vs
In doing so, AMS was able to offer a similar product at a substantial savings in comparison to MSP. This is probably why you may believe that others may view Vuk as some sort of "hero".
Actually I, and most others who care and are objective, view him simply as he is, an ebay-caliber vendor that has become a destructive presence in the marketplace having great success by taking advantage of uninformed kids and puzzlingly-ignorant or unwilling-to-accept-the-truth adults via a manufactured reputation now propped up by 3ZC. Is it also possible that perhaps his business skills are a bit better than Mike Smith? If you define "business skills" as taking another product and xeroxing it and then undercutting (again, FACT John, the cat is out of the bag). Most people liken that to a sort of piracy. I now see why you work for the government, if this is what you think is having business skills you wouldnt be of much use to any business apart from those who operate unethically and predatorily with AMS-style "skills". I have nothing against Mike Smith and why should I? Heck, I've never even met the fellow. Do I think he's a "greedy asshole"? Not in the very least. I even use his manifolds. If I felt they were doing my Z a diss- service I would have them removed. But they're not and they're working just fine and I'm happy about that. Now, had I the option at the time of my engine build and I had the choice of the two right in front of me at the same time, I'd choose the AMS ones. Partially because they appear to have better flow rates but mostly because of the cost. I'm being completely honest here. Again here you go sidestepping the issue with red herrings about you not having met or not having personal issues against someone, deflecting the discussion away from the matter at hand in a way that implies a different premise for this "discussion" (which is less of a discussion, and more of you get fact after fact thrown at you, and you dancing around them like Al Gore dodging climate change facts) That is my right and priviledge to exercise that freedom of choice. I'm sure you wouldn't want to inhibit one's freedom of choice as to what prodcuts they want to buy, would you? Again with the diverting of attention away from the real issue, as if this has anything to do with people wanting to dictate to other people what to buy and what not to buy, and nothing to do with letting Z32 owners WHO CARE know the truth about the destructive market presence of AMS relative to future innovation and product introductions, and making sure uninformed/questionably-motived people like you are not permitted to prop them up "carte blanche" I will dare to say that there may be an underlying issue that some may not want to admit to. That is the fact that AMS is not American. That for some reason, supporting a non-American company is just down-right wrong. I can fully understand that type of thinking. I've personally experienced something similar numerous times over the last 3 decades in my trips and vacations to the sunny south. I may be way off-base here, but I liken it to a typical red-neck mind-set. These people are of a very narrow point of view and do not and will not recognize anything outside of that narrow mindedness. In a twisted sort of fashion, that same sort of perspective may be prevalent but will never if ever be spoken of and certainly never admitted to publicly. In a sense, it may be linked or associated to a bit of a protectionist posture. Governments practice all sorts of protectionist policies as a means of saving businesses and economies. Seeing that same sort of practice within our own sphere should not be a surprise nor should it be discounted as a potential factor in play when it comes to Z32 products offered by AMS.
And YET AGAIN, with the red herrings. Yes John, there is very much a racist, nationalist thing going on here at TTnet. Havent you heard already why so many despise Obama? We are all racist xenophobes! We hide it very cleverly by pretending to embrace a few filthy token Canadians, Peruvians, Arubans, who have snuck into site membership, plus we have had to drive these Japanese cars. We have SPL send us asian products with instructions and warranty sheets written in other languages that resemble chicken scratch instead of our glorious anglo-gringo inscribings. I can't keep a secret so here goes.....As soon as we can shut AMS down, there is a secret project going on to offer a kit that converts the whole vehicle from metric hardware to standard. Then our dreams will be fully realized. If you are going to play that card, then you are really truly grasping for straws. I got news for you John, contrary to what the American media and youth culture may have you believe, the majority of us Americans are NOT scared to be called racists, we reject undeserved guilt for being proud of who or what we are or the misguided beliefs/attitudes of others that would be expected to be found in a nation of 300+ million, and the racism/xenophobe card is no fail-safe Trump card when dealing with us. If you want to go there, then you do so, we are used to it and it serves to do little more than verify that you haven't a leg to stand on. Congrats. Don't email me anymore, given all the information that is out there, you plainly choose to ignore the fact that your pal's business is a destructive presence and want to continue to represent AMS as an acceptable option for folks who care about Z32's and the future of the Z32 aftermarket. If you want to insinuate xenophobism or whatever in the face of it all in order to maintain or gain traction in light of it all, then your motives are questionable AT BEST. I likely wouldn't associate with you in real life not because of your poor judgement in who you have decided to support, but because you are the type of intellectual-weakling who resorts to below-the-belt debate tactics common to the American liberal who always misrepresents what it is they really stand-for and ignores reality because their contrived stance doesn't hold up in light of it. Your mistake being that you are addressing an audience that this would work on. Before you go throwing up your hands and saying I'm just a TTnetter who cant and wont accept anyhting he isnt spoonfed from the TTnet honchos and their butt-buddies. You read all up on me making an ass of myself taking up your very arguement (minus the xenophobe crap) for skepticism's sake. Even I can see what is going on once I have enough of a case presented before me, and come to the conclusion that others came to prior. I probably owe David an apology, from my viewpoint at the time, I wasn't ready just to accept it on other people's word alone at the time. Embarassing for me.
